Every street could be a scene in a well-known movie. But they may not be really filmed in New York though the story is in New York.<\/p>\n<p>Many great directors including Woody Allen, Ang Lee and Alfred Hitchcock have chosen this city for their movies. As a result, many tourists come to see the \u201cnew landmarks\u201d where the movies were filmed.<\/p>\n<h3>East Village and Greenwich Village<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-99\" src=\"http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/greenwich-village-nyc-map-300x179.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"179\" srcset=\"http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/greenwich-village-nyc-map-300x179.jpg 300w, http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/greenwich-village-nyc-map-768x457.jpg 768w, http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/greenwich-village-nyc-map.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cEyes Wide Shut\u201d, \u201cTaxi Driver\u201d, \u201cRear Window\u201d and many other movies took place in the East Village, Greenwich Village and the Lower East Side of Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p>According to Vivian. L, a 16-year-old British girl who just came to New York, \u201cBegin Again\u201d did entice her to see New York.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m satisfied with Washington Square. The street performers in there are exactly same with the movie\u2019s scene!\u201d Vivian said.<\/p>\n<p>For Tony Z. who is in college in Philadelphia, it seems that New York hides so many crimes and pains after he watched the famous Robert De Niro and Jodie Foster movie \u201cTaxi Driver\u201d. When walking along the street, he can still feel the loneliness and melancholy of the night. I\u2019d really want to solve this puzzle. So I\u2019m here. Wall Street is exactly the same in my imagination\u2014speedy and busy,\u201d he said<\/p>\n<h3>Fifth Avenue<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cBreakfast of Tiffany\u2019s\u201d has been discussed a lot when talking about Fifth Avenue. They chase love and money, but keep neglecting their real selves. However, New York is still kind to them anyway. There are indeed many well-dressed pedestrians. But it is more comfortable and less crazy than the movie. Thus I enjoy the reality better,\u201d another British girl, Elizabeth, said.<\/p>\n<h3>Brooklyn<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-97\" src=\"http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/map-brook-300x183.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"183\" srcset=\"http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/map-brook-300x183.png 300w, http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/map-brook.png 534w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Movies including \u201cGoodfellas\u201d, \u201cRequiem for a Dream\u201d and \u201cAnnie Hall\u201d contain views of Brooklyn.<\/p>\n<p>Jonah Z. is a huge Woody Allen fan from Boston. He said \u201cEvery time I head to New York, I feel it\u2019s like a pilgrimage.\u201d And the Brooklyn Bridge is the spot he visits frequently.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-105\" src=\"http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/annie-300x225.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/annie-300x225.png 300w, http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/annie.png 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love here. It is the same in Allen\u2019s movies. Like \u201cAnnie Hall\u201d, which is an old work, but still reveals the true romantic feature of New York. The city itself is fascinating and full of uncertainty, similar to the movie,\u201d Jonah said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce Upon a Time in America\u201d is also a favorable crime movie shot mainly in Brooklyn. I once thought New York belongs to the rich, pricey fur and pubs. That\u2019s the only reason I come to Empire State! I like New York because everything can happen here, no coincident is weird here, even the romance in the movie,&#8221; Maggie said.<\/p>\n<h3>Central Park<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cThe Front\u201d, \u201cNorth by Northwest\u201d, \u201cHome Alone 2\u201d and \u201cManhattan\u201d, are among the famous movies made around Central Park.<\/p>\n<p>For 40-year-old local Megan Mostel, \u201cWhen Harry meets Sally\u201d is the classic for relationships.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-112\" src=\"http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/harry-300x163.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"163\" srcset=\"http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/harry-300x163.png 300w, http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/harry-768x417.png 768w, http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/harry.png 975w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">&#8220;When Harry met Sally&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery one watched this movie back to my school days. It is realistic but also sweet. When we went out for dates, Central Park was the first idea came up thanks to this movie. And we still do that now, Central Park is always good.\u201d Megan said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBride War\u201d with Annie Hathaway was mentioned several times.
