Museums are always my favorite places to visit.<\/p>\n<p>In New York, after I went to several major museums, I discovered some features that are different from museums in Beijing. Like the city of New York itself, the museums show diverse cultures vividly.<\/p>\n<p>It is truly amazing for me to see so many exhibits from countries all around the world in a decorative marble palace, which gave me a sense of cultural inclusion and enjoyment.<\/p>\n<p>The museums in Beijing always impress me with the long history and fabulous cultures of my country, from thousands of years ago to today. The elaborate art works which are 800 years old still shimmer under the lights.<\/p>\n<p>I am always proud of my country\u2019s long standing history, while appreciating the amazing diversity of cultures mixed in New York City.<\/p>\n<p>Yet the museums in Beijing focus on Chinese collections, while the museums in New York City include worldwide exhibitions.<\/p>\n<p>The Museums in Beijing are mostly free, while the museums in New York City charge fees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Metropolitan Museum of Art on Fifth Avenue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Met Fifth Avenue is the most famous museum in New York.<\/p>\n<p>Presenting various kinds of cultures over 5000 years, it elaborately shows a wonderful view of civilization.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of visitors are tourists who come from different cities and countries, according to a small survey.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_80\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-80\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-80 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/IMG_5711-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"all photos by Yuxin Liu\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/IMG_5711-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/IMG_5711-768x576.jpg 768w, http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/IMG_5711-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/IMG_5711-1200x900.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-80\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">all photos by Yuxin Liu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe came from Tokyo,\u201d said Alex, a girl with two of her friends.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe main reason why we came to New York is to visit the Met! It is fantastic!\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The Met has many separate exhibitions, such as the medieval \u00a0 area, the ancient European part, and so on.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love Van Gogh. All his worksare fabulous!\u201d said Jenny, a 17 precollege student at NYU from Hangzhou, China.<\/p>\n<p>The great artists such as Claude Monet and Paul Cezanne are also on display.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Met Cloisters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-81 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/IMG_4326-e1502383768770-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"253\" height=\"190\" srcset=\"http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/IMG_4326-e1502383768770-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/IMG_4326-e1502383768770-768x576.jpg 768w, http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/IMG_4326-e1502383768770-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/projects.nyujournalism.org\/precollegepress\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2017\/08\/IMG_4326-e1502383768770-1200x900.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 253px) 85vw, 253px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Located in Northen Manhattan\u2019s Fort Tryon Park, the MetropolitanMuseu<\/p>\n<p>m\u2019s Cloisters has unparalleled natural views of the Hudson River.<\/p>\n<p>After walking the winding road through the park, the Cloisters museum came to view. Inside the stone building decorated with delicate design, assorted exhibits are on display. The designs of the whole museum was a mirror of the Medieval European monastic life, giving tourists a sense of the mysterious.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of the collections inside were from Romanesque and Gothic periods, including art and architecture.<\/p>\n<p>The whole museum is divided into four parts: the Cuxa, Bonnefont, Trie and Saint-Guilhem. Because of its location (very close to the Met), tourists can visit these two famous museums in one day. But, if you want to carefully appreciate the works here, a one-day visiting is highly recommended.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 1929, MOMA is one of the largest modern art museums in the world. Because Van Gogh is my favorite artist, I come here for his works,\u201d said Mary, a visitor from South Korea.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the museum, there is a beautiful garden next to the building. Tourists after visiting always can rest and chat with friends there, while appreciating the gorgeous view and decorative sculptures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 National Museum of China<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>National Museum of China is an integrated museum famous for its long history.
